Professor Carney, a Former President of the Australian and New Zealand Rhinologic Society, recently presented two talks at the ANZRS Meeting in Queenstown. Unfortunately, owing to 80km/hr winds, all flights to New Zealand were cancelled and he had to deliver the presentations virtually. Prof Carney’s talks were on “Medicolegal tips for Rhinologists” and “Non-allergic rhinitis”. A Flinders University Medical Student, Guy Botera, did manage to make it to Queenstown and presented his research, supervised by Prof Carney, looking at low-salt nasal irrigation solutions and the beneficial effects on the nasal innate immune system.
