Snoring and Sleep Apnoea
Flinders is famous as a world centre for surgery for snoring and sleep apnoea. This reputation was built by Dr Sam Robinson who tragically passed away at a young age, whilst recognised as one of the leading surgeons in the world. Both Professor Carney and Dr Ooi have taken over some of his work load and although admitting they do not have Dr Robinson’s unique skills and experience, Dr Robinson passed over some of his teaching to both our surgeons and we do have an active clinical and research programme in surgery for snoring and sleep apnoea. We work closely with the Institute of Sleep Medicine at the Repatriation General Hospital as well as other private sleep centres around South Australia. Please see our individual pages for more details.
Surgery
Having an operation can be a stressful time.
One of the founding principles of our practice is that we attempt to make the whole process from being seen in the outpatient rooms, through the booking of surgery, the actual procedure and your admission to hospital followed by review and post-operative care, as complication free and easy as possible. If for some reason you feel something has been overlooked then please contact us as soon as possible and we will do our best to rectify this as soon as we possibly can.
